Hello everyone, I’m a beginner. I have a question for you all: are there any additives that need to be added when refining lead from batteries?

Today, lead recycling requires environmental protection measures: it can be separated, with the metallic lead being directly melted into alloy lead ingots; the lead sulfate sludge is sold to specialized lead smelting companies as a raw material, while the outer shells are sold as plastic. Direct melting results in a low recovery rate and causes severe environmental pollution.
I agree with the view above: first, carry out sorting; the lead plates are directly melted into lead alloys, the lead paste is mixed with lime and melted in a reverberatory furnace, and the plastic casing is simply taken away.
The cost of adding alkali is relatively high; currently, the iron scrap reduction method is used.
