As research on materials has intensified, some well-known domestic enterprises and engineering companies have gradually improved the acid production processes, especially in terms of heat recovery. My knowledge of the sulfur-based acid production industry is still limited; I am not very familiar with the use of many materials, and I am also unaware of the applications of certain special steels. In the domestic drying and absorption sector, brick lining is still widely used – it’s cost-effective and highly resistant to corrosion, though it is a bit bulky. Companies with sufficient financial resources probably use all-alloy tower tanks; I’m not sure how many companies currently use such all-alloy tower tanks.
For the alloy material of drying towers, XDS-2 from Xuanda is available in China. Lao Meng’s Zecor. German Krupp’s 700Si. Swedish Sandvik’s SX. There seems to be also one from some company in Canada. Can’t remember :)
Using all-alloy for the drying tower seems a bit difficult. It seems that Mengmok’s also doesn’t entirely belong to Zecor. Only the acid distributor and some small internal components are made of alloy. The tower itself is lined with carbon steel bricks. Actually, all-alloy isn’t that good. It leaks more easily than patterned bricks. Well-made lining bricks. It’s no problem for a tower to last over 30 years. The alloy used for the internal components eliminates the disadvantages of anodic protection
