How many pumps are there in a catalytic cracking unit? Which pumps are relatively important, and is it possible to make all the pumps in the entire system domestically?
What is the typical scale of atmospheric and vacuum distillation plants these days? On a larger scale, is it necessary from an economic perspective?
How many pumps are there in total in the hydrocracking unit? Which pumps are more important?

This post was last edited by aqshhsq on 2010-10-12 at 18:37. There are 2 units each of crude oil pumps (cold paraffin oil and hot paraffin oil), 2 re-refining oil pumps, 2–3 slurry oil pumps. There are also 2 units each of instrument flushing oil pumps, instrument heating water pumps, distillation overhead circulation pumps, first-stage distillation pumps, light diesel oil pumps, crude gasoline pumps, rich gas washing pumps, absorption and stabilization condensate oil pumps, deethanization feed pumps, and stabilizer tower overhead liquefied gas pumps. Additionally, there are 2 units each of absorber tower intermediate reflux pumps, as well as 2–4 units of passivation agent pumps and scale inhibitor pumps. All the pumps mentioned above can be domestic pumps; most of them are essential, while the deethanization feed pump can be shut down, as the pressure difference between the two towers can provide sufficient pressure ； The instrument heating water pump is not necessary in summer.
For our three catalytic cracking units with capacities of 150,000 tons, 650,000 tons, and 1.4 million tons respectively, all the pumps and machinery are domestically produced.
We have 59 catalytic cracking units, equipped with 31 different types of pumps – such as feed pumps, slurry pumps, various types of reflux pumps, product pumps, passivator pumps, scale inhibitor pumps, various types of bottom pump, condensate pumps, various water pumps, lubricating oil pumps, etc. Whether to choose domestic or imported pumps depends on the reaction conditions, the type of catalyst, and the rate of wear and tear. Under normal conditions, domestic pumps can be used; however, for critical pumps or those operating under harsh conditions, it’s better to opt for imported pumps, such as slurry pumps
This issue is a bit too big. . You need to consider the scale of the refining facilities and the number of such facilities.
Our catalytic unit is equipped with 59 pumps, half of which are used as spares; all of them are manufactured domestically. Main fan power oil pump, lubricating oil pump ； Booster lubrication oil pump ； Air compressor lubrication oil pumps – these pumps are very important; if a problem occurs and the oil pressure drops too low, it will trigger the unit’s self-protection mechanism. Feed pumps, slurry pumps, re-refining oil pumps, liquid hydrocarbons pumps, as well as circulation pumps and product discharge pumps are also important; otherwise, it can lead to operational fluctuations, defective products, and even forced shutdown of the plant.
