How to translate “path gas” and “spot gas”?

As the title suggests, problems encountered in translating equipment-related literature abroad. I would like to ask those with more experience: what do \"path gas\" and \"spot gas\" mean respectively?

It seems that before \"path\" there should be \"long\" and \"short\", which should be translated as Remote/Process Gas
