Which pipes in a distillation unit need insulation in winter?
Insulation is required for the bottoms and tops of each distillation tower, not only in winter; in winter, insulation is mainly needed for those parts of the plant that have water systems
Basically, insulation treatment is required for all pipes that are not part of the circulating water system, in order to minimize heat loss; it can be utilized for this purpose
Mainly, material pipelines, distillation towers, and storage tanks all require insulation. As for circulating water, no insulation is needed as long as the flow of water does not stop; however, in winter when temperatures are below zero, fire protection water requires insulation! It is best to insulate the entire distillation tower, especially the steam pipelines!
Insulation is required in all areas where energy is lost; normal-temperature hydrogen and nitrogen, as well as instrument gas, are not subject to this requirement
