The sources of colored gypsum products available on the market currently are as follows: 1. Crushed natural colored gypsum, but it contains radioactive elements and is a scarce resource; 2. White gypsum is burned to become mature gypsum, then crushed, and pigments are added ; 3. Chinese Academy of Sciences patent: Method for producing colored gypsum powder from chromium-containing waste gypsum – 02156775.1; the colored gypsum produced by this method has a color resulting from hexavalent chromium salts and is highly toxic. There are no public reports on the technology for synthesizing colored gypsum crystals artificially. Currently, through crystal growth techniques, environmentally friendly nanomagnetic materials and eco-friendly pigments are incorporated into the gypsum crystal structure, resulting in various shiny colored gypsum crystals. The size of these crystals can be controlled and adjusted to any value within 200 mesh. However, no industrial application has been found yet; it is planned to be used in interior coatings – I wonder if that is feasible? Around 2000, there was a company in Wuhan named Chu Xing Qi that promoted gypsum coatings in the market; after that, no further information is available. Apart from self-leveling gypsum and sprayed gypsum (which is being promoted by industry associations and might be useful),..; To date, no related products or market applications have been seen.
