Our plant uses atmospheric pressure distillation towers; recently, the pressures at the top and bottom of the towers have been high, and the temperatures are also on the high side; What is the reason? ?
It may be caused by a high bottom temperature of the tower, low reflux flow rate, and high reflux temperature

It is also possible that there is an increase in high-boiling-point components within the distillation feed; let’s analyze this; Could there be blockages of material between the top of the tower and the vent? Especially those materials that turn solid or become viscous after cooling can block the pipes, which is very dangerous; it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible
Check the exhaust pipeline to see if it is unobstructed, whether it is blocked by condensate, or if there are issues with the opening degree of the exhaust control valve, which could lead to an increase in tower pressure and consequently a rise in tower temperature.

High tower top temperature is caused by cooler blockage, high reactor temperature, high-load operation, leakage in the bottom reboiler of the tower, changes in raw material composition, insufficient reflux, or high reflux temperature. It could also be a gauge failure.
When the pressure is high, the temperature will definitely be high as well. It doesn’t seem like there’s any change in the components. Are you using an air cooler or a regular condenser? If it’s a regular condenser, you can try venting the gas from the shell side
It’s likely the extraction pipeline for the steam at the top of the tower; the condenser has become clogged. This caused the pressure throughout the tower to increase.
