How should traps be installed in the buried sections of steam pipelines beneath roads? Should the traps be installed directly, with water flowing directly into the gutter before emerging above ground?
This post was last edited by DXJ122 on 2010-10-14 at 19:38. Our steam pipes all pass over the road via pipe racks, so we don’t have the situation you’re describing. Since it’s going underground, try to drain the water once before burial; a drainage guide can be installed in the underground part. The steam pipe’s drain valves do not need to be placed too closely together, as it takes a considerable length for condensation water to appear; specifics depend on the power pipeline in question.
Thank you, DXJ122: If there is water in the underground section, is it drained through drainage pipes? What is the specific method for doing this, and are there any reference manuals available?
Reply to 3# zgzzsn: Since there is hydrophobicity present beforehand, there is little condensate water during normal operation. However, after pipeline pressure testing and shutdown, water accumulates in this section of underground pipes, and that is where the function of a drain pipe comes into play. I also have no experience as to where the drainage water from the guide drain goes. Check what the diameter of your pipe is to estimate how much water there is. If there is little water, lift it manually.
Arrange a row of wells, and the water from these wells can be drained into the stormwater wells of municipal infrastructure. In the Nanjing Chemical Park, I saw how it is done.
You can install hydrophobic points at the front end of the pipe where no land has been purchased; install stop valves before and after the hydrophobic valve, and provide a vent valve for cleaning the pipe!
This post was last edited by diwu0205 on 2011-2-11 20:13. A pipe well with a trap can be installed at the lowest point of the pipeline; the condensate can be drained into the nearest drainage well, or its level can be raised to the surface using the steam pressure before the valve
It is recommended to use an abstraction layer; it can be set on the frontend – there is no other way

Thank you, senior from above. Use the siphon method to drain the condensate; the water is at a depth of 1.2 meters below the ground. How should it be set up so that the water can flow into the drainage ditches on the surface?
