What impact does tray corrosion or floating valve detachment have on distillation?
In distillation operations, the issue lies in the reflux ratio; these two conditions can lead to liquid leakage or flooding, that is, abnormal distillation conditions, which ultimately affect the purity of the product. In the case of air separation distillation towers, low product purity has a significant impact on the gasification process, and oxygen must be added to improve the purity.
Corrosion of the trays, or the detachment of floating valves, is equivalent to a reduction in the number of trays in the distillation tower, which lowers the efficiency of distillation and affects product quality.
Corrosion of the tray can cause the floating valves to get stuck, reducing the operational flexibility of the tower; flooding occurs when the load increases； The detachment of the floating valve causes liquid leakage from the tray, reducing separation efficiency.
