The 10Kg of steam in our system is produced when 20 kilograms of steam pass through the reboiler and then return to the 10Kg steam flash tank; any shortfall is made up with additional 20Kg of steam. Currently, there is a significant amount of water in the 10Kg of steam, which has a considerable impact on the 10Kg reboiler, leading to unstable heating. Could experts please offer some suggestions?
Add a water collection tray to the steam pipe, and then use a steam trap
A steam buffer tank can be added to separate steam from water, while the water is drained for reuse. Another reason for the high moisture content in 1.0MPa steam is the failure to drain promptly the water generated during heat exchange in your reboiler.
Is the liquid level too high during operation?
Yes, it’s possible that the liquid level control in your flash tank is set too high, resulting in a high amount of liquid in the flash vapor; you can lower the liquid level accordingly; Or the level gauge of the flash tank indicates a low level; adjust the gauge.
Add a steam separator tank: 10 kilograms of steam is introduced at the middle, steam is discharged from the top of the tank, and a drain valve is installed at the bottom to remove water.
The condensate resulting from 20 kilograms of steam passing through the reboiler enters the middle section of the 10-kilogram steam flash tank; A condensate collection tank is connected to the bottom of the flash tank, and the liquid is then pumped using a water pump to the process where it is needed ; 10 kilograms of steam are produced at the top of the flash tank.
