The current conditions for the production process are as follows: it is necessary to produce 10,000 tons of calcium alkyl salicylate with a medium alkalinity value, a calcium content of 5.5–6.6%, an alkalinity value of 150, and alkyl chain lengths of C14–C18. The raw materials required are alkyl salicylate, calcium hydroxide, carbon dioxide, base oil, and sulfonic acid. Marine friends, take a look – how can we derive a theoretical material balance under these circumstances?
Calculating the theoretical material balance should not be difficult, based on requirements such as chemical reaction equations, raw material contents, product quantity and quality, and product yield.
I don’t think it’s possible. You don’t have the specifications for your product, nor those for the raw materials, and there’s also no information on the separation process after the synthesis in the reactor – how can you do any calculations then? If we’re talking about the material balance for a synthesis reactor, that’s more or less okay, but you don’t have information on the specifications of the raw materials, nor on the yield of the synthesis or the percentage content of the output.
