I noticed that the valve stems on the samples are generally quite short; will it be impossible to operate them after insulation?
I’ve seen valves on cold pipelines at -175°C; the valve stems are quite long. For butt-welded ball valves with small diameters, there are straight sections before and after the valve itself. So, it’s definitely because you chose the wrong sample. I’ll take some photos when I have time and show them to you~~
The insulation shouldn’t cover the valve, right? There must be some space for operation
Insulation generally requires the valves to be covered, and there are also established construction methods for this. Regarding valve operation alone, it is advisable to choose valve types with longer valve stems, so as not to hinder operation.
You can communicate with the manufacturer to have the control handle lengthened, or you can lengthen it yourself as well – that’s fine too! Here, we all extend them by ourselves using mechanical tools. . .
Just lengthen the control handle, and that’s it!
