What is the function of the large tie rod expansion joint?
This type of expansion joint is composed of two bellows, an intermediate pipe, end pipes, and large tie rods, and it can absorb lateral displacements in any plane of the piping system. The ends of its large tie rod are equipped with spherical washers; when displacement occurs, the spherical washers on the tie rod rotate around the conical washers, and at the same time the tie rod is able to withstand the thrust generated by the internal pressure of the pipeline fluid.
