What is the purpose of the deaeration station?
The deaeration station is used to remove oxygen and other non-condensable gases from boiler water, and to adjust the conductivity and pH value of the boiler water to meet the specified standards. The function of the deaerator tank is to store feedwater, balancing the difference between the amount of water supplied to the boiler by the feedwater pump and the amount of water sent to the deaerator by the condensate pump.
The corrosion of steel by oxygen is well known. Assuming no deoxygenation, when feedwater enters the boiler system, the temperature there will inevitably cause the dissolved oxygen to be released; coupled with the large amount of water present, this will lead to corrosion of the equipment. . .
