Actually, ball valves aren’t the best choice either! All the steam-operated ball valves we have here have been replaced! All use steam sleeve valves! It’s more effective than ball valves! Prolonged exposure to steam will wash grooves into the surface of the sphere, which will cause internal leakage in the valve!
