In the year I graduated, I wasn’t sure about my career direction; all I wanted was a job location close to home. In my confusion, I ended up working as a equipment operator at a chemical plant ; As the first equipment operator in the unit, I worked on shift for a month, handling tasks such as planning production in the workshop and obtaining raw materials. I also spent time with the workshop’s maintenance staff; it was a monotonous job full of challenges. . . . . A year later, I was transferred to the production department, where I took on responsibilities related to the management of special equipment. I was also tasked with paying employees’ salaries and handling energy statistics, including tracking monthly consumption of water, electricity, and gas. Still, I felt that I wasn’t learning anything new. . . . . . Change jobs. . . . . . I visited a non-destructive testing company, and I thought that the testing equipment was similar to the cameras used in hospitals to take pictures of patients; I also felt that there was no future in this field ; Changing jobs again? Sure, I went to a newly established company, thinking there would be opportunities for growth, but I ended up doing the same job as before – dealing with equipment-related matters and handling all the related paperwork; it was just as boring. . . . . . . I really don’t know what my career plan is. . . . . . . . Confused people. . . . . . . . . Summary: 1] Working as a equipment technician in a chemical plant is a tough job; it’s like being a member of a fire brigade. . Due to careless operation in the workshop, the equipment was damaged; repairs had to be carried out, and the personnel involved are under the workshop’s management, resulting in too many constraints. . . 2】There’s really no room for career advancement as a equipment technician; it’s even worse than working as a worker at an installation company. 3】In terms of job recruitment, 99% of the positions do not require candidates with a degree in chemical engineering machinery. 4】I advise those who haven’t started working as equipment technicians in chemical plants to consider working at design firms or engineering companies; avoid working as equipment technicians in chemical plants unless it’s absolutely necessary

Those upstairs shouldn’t have too many concerns; everyone’s growth experience isn’t necessarily the same. It depends on opportunities and the ability to seize them

When you’re bored, spend some time obtaining a certification as a registered engineer; this way, when you join a design firm, you’ll have work experience and be able to understand design tasks more deeply.
