I am not familiar with DCS, and I have the following questions for the forum experts: What are the types of DI/DO cards used for data acquisition in DCS? As far as I know, there are analog input and analog output types – what are some common instruments of these types? (Question 1) Switch input, switch output – common instruments of this type are likely FS (flow switch) and LS (level switch). Pulse input quantity – is there no output for pulse signals? What are some of these common instruments? (Question 2)? Number of digital inputs, number of digital outputs. What are some common types of such instruments? (Question 3)? What are the differences between analog signals, pulse signals, and digital signals? (Question 4) Fieldbus is, as far as I know, commonly used in TTs (temperature transmitters) and PTs (pressure transmitters). What kind of signals do their DI cards have? (Question 5)
