Our company has recently installed a new \"45.80\" urea production plant. The gas generation process makes use of four-nozzle technology, and the entire process includes several key stages such as gas generation, shift reaction, sulfur recovery, air separation, low-temperature methanol washing, liquid nitrogen washing, synthesis, compression, and urea production. How many flare systems would be appropriate for such a system? We would appreciate some advice from those with experience in this field

Gas generation, conversion, sulfur recovery, air separation, low-temperature methanol washing, liquid nitrogen washing, synthesis, compression, urea. Have the material balances for these units been done? If the capacity for converting gas to air separation is mismatched, or in case of an accident, it must be sent to the flare and diverted to the previous process step.

The claim about the 5th floor is irresponsible. I haven’t seen your specific process flow, but based on what you’ve described, process gas flares, acidic gas flares, and ammonia flares should be designed. As for whether a low-pressure process gas flare is also needed, you should consult with the design institute.
It is recommended to install a syngas flare (for treating CO+H2), an acid gas flare (for treating H2S), and an ammonia flare (for treating NH3), with all three flares sharing one tower. Please have the engineering design institute determine the emission volume for each flare, and then ask a professional flare supplier to provide the complete set of equipment.
