Reasons for a gradual drop: Usually it’s due to issues with the quality of the oil, with the pressure difference across the oil filter increasing over time. Personal opinion

In addition to those mentioned above, other reasons for low lubricating oil pressure in the oil system of ammonia compression refrigeration include: 1. The inlet filter of the oil pump is clogged. 2. It is caused by problems with the self-acting control valves for the oil and lubricating oil pressures at the oil pump outlet. 3. If the oil temperature is too high, its viscosity decreases and the oil pressure drops.
The outlet check valves of the standby lubricating oil pump and the emergency lubricating oil pump become loose due to vibration, which prevents the backflow of lubricating oil from being stopped; as a result, the amount of lubricating oil leaking increases, leading to a gradual drop in lubricating oil pressure.
Additional note:) A failure of the hydraulic pressure sensor can also cause the gauge to show a sudden drop in oil pressure
