Feeling lost in the workplace, seeking advice from seniors

I graduated in 2008 with an associate degree; I don’t have any other special skills. Humans belong to real humans. After graduation, I joined a newly built chemical plant, which had an oil refining facility. Since I wanted to exercise myself, I resigned in July this year to go out and do business. I live in Ningbo, Zhejiang. After working for a month now, I earn less than 2,000 yuan per month, which is just enough to cover my living expenses. My former employer is asking me to return, offering a salary of 4000+. Hesitating. . . . . Also, I forgot to ask for some advice from the seniors!
The salary is quite attractive, but it depends mainly on the direction you want to pursue in your career. I’ve been working in technology development, and it feels rather monotonous. Personally, I think one shouldn’t worry too much about the salary during the first three years of a career; the focus should be on determining one’s direction and establishing a solid foundation for oneself.
