I saw the F-type spring bracket for suspension brackets in the design manual: VS30F15. What does VS30F15 specifically mean? This should be the model of an F-type spring bracket. In which standard or manual can this model be found?
Type F – Support and suspension type variable spring hanger; refer to standard JB/T 8130.2-1999 for variable spring hangers
I know that VS30F15 refers to a supported, suspended variable spring hanger; specific details regarding its identification can be found in JB/T8130.2-1999 and GB1082-88! The model designation method: TD denotes a variable spring hanger; then why is it VS here? 30, F, 15 are all easy to understand! In the specific diagram of type F, there is an explanation: central tube/ (not available in VS30F); here, VS appears again! I don’t quite understand! I would appreciate your advice! Could it be that it is because the F-type variable spring lacks a central tube that the TD-type becomes another type of VS-type? But are the other parameters the same for the VS type and the TD type? There is no chart for the VS type in the standards!!!
It is recommended to consult the pipeline and pipe rack sections of the design specifications for these construction drawings
Refer to page 121 of Part 5, Version 2 of the Manual for the Installation and Design of Process Piping in Petrochemical Plants; this also refers to variable spring supports, but they are usually mentioned together with regular supports. TD30F15 simply refers to the spring itself, I believe
I was wrong; let me correct that. The spring code for the mechanical department is TD, while it’s VS for the chemical department. Additionally, for springs with a displacement of 150–180 units, the chemical department uses different selection criteria. Although the design manual mentioned in my previous reply pertains to the chemical sector, it still uses the TD selection table. The standard applied here is JB/T8130.2-1999. In other words, for displacements within the range of 0–120 units, there isn’t much difference between TD and VS
