In our factory’s drum granulation unit, the operator sits at the outlet of the granulator and adjusts the amount of steam based on the moisture level and balling efficiency of the material. The working conditions are quite harsh, and we would like to convert this process to a semi-automatic or fully automatic one. It was considered to install cameras at the outlet of the granulator so that operators could control the steam volume remotely, but this idea was abandoned due to issues such as changes in the amount of material returning, the humidity of the material, and inaccuracies in viewing through the cameras. I’m not sure what good ideas everyone has; let’s discuss it together.
I think it can be controlled through the system current, as well as the currents of the crusher and the material return conveyor equipment; of course, temperature and humidity measurement devices are also needed for control. It is best to create a distributed control module controlled by a computer DCS. I heard that some manufacturers are now offering complete DCS control systems.
