There is only cold reflux; no top circulation is provided, which results in large fluctuations in the top temperature. Is it possible to control the top temperature better in other ways?
Control the temperature in the middle and lower sections of the distillation tower carefully; pay attention to keeping the cold reflux oil stable – it should be free of water and have a uniform flow rate. When making adjustments in the middle and lower sections, it is necessary to make small adjustments in multiple steps. The temperature at the top should be controllable.
There are also responses to reducing temperature and volume here, in order to decrease slag infiltration
It can only rely on cold reflux and reflux from the middle and lower parts to keep the top temperature down; the device must be quite small, right? The adjustment range should be kept as small as possible, as such a fractionation tower lacks operational flexibility; the amount of lean absorbent oil can be used for control (if available)
For 500,000 tons, the peak temperature tends to fluctuate in line with the variations in the feed material; even a slight oversight can result in fluctuations of 15 degrees.
