Texaco gasifier thermocouple damaged

The thermocouples in the Texaco gasifier are breaking down. For our company’s natural gas furnaces, the operating temperature is high, at 1400 degrees, and the pressure is high, at 7.9 MPa; as a result, the thermocouples tend to get damaged frequently. What are some good solutions? We use platinum-rhodium thermocouples.
