Since the temperature changes significantly as the converter cools down, the furnace tubes contract greatly; any misalignment or failure of the support springs at the top of the furnace can cause damage to these tubes.
During the cooling process, the contraction of the furnace tube is restricted
During the cooling phase after the heating up of the converter, the furnace tubes contract. If the spring hangers at the top of the tubes do not return to their proper position, the high temperature can cause the tubes to deform. It is recommended to record the expansion of the furnace tubes at each temperature during startup and shutdown to prevent jamming.
