Is the melting and decomposition of crystals the same thing?

Does the melting of a crystal mean it has decomposed? What do you all think, experts?
Of course they are not the same thing; melting involves changing from a solid state to a fluid state (liquid phase), while decomposition simply means that large crystal structures break apart into other crystal forms
