When stored, butterfly valves should be in an open position of 4-5°. I’ve seen information suggesting that this is due to stress or similar factors; could those of you who are experienced in this area explain the reasons in more detail? It would be great if there are specific standards for this It should also be at a 4-5° angle during transportation, right?

Butterfly valves should be stored in a rainproof, dustproof, and dry location, with the butterfly disc in an open position of 5°–10°, and covered to prevent debris from reaching the sealing surfaces. 2. During transportation, the butterfly valve’s two sealing surfaces should be protected to prevent damage.
It seems that the expansion butterfly valves in our company are in a closed position both when they are delivered and when stored. Because by default, the valve is in a closed state when there is a power loss.
