Regarding air-operated level gauges and radar level gauges

When I was studying the P&id for the sulfur melting area, I encountered a problem: air-operated level gauges were used for measuring the levels in the crude sulfur tank and the filter aid tank, while radar level gauges were used in the sulfur storage tank, the intermediate tank, and the refined sulfur tank. (The crude sulfur tank and the filter aid tank are equipped with agitators)； The intermediate tank, the sulfur purification tank, and the liquid sulfur storage tank are equipped with no agitators. I would like to ask the experts on this forum: what is the difference between air-operated level gauges and radar level gauges, and how should one choose between them?
Principle of the air-puff type level gauge: An air-puff level gauge extends a tube into the liquid; the pressure at the pressure sensing point is equal to the pressure at the point where the tube comes into contact with the liquid. The pressure difference generated between these two tubes is sent to a transmitter, which converts it into a standard signal.
