By using an oxygen-hydrogen flame to melt lead strips and apply them to the surface of the lined object (or equipment), a dense lead layer of certain thickness is formed; this anti-corrosion method is known as lead plating. There are two methods for applying lead plating. One involves melting the lead electrode using an oxygen-hydrogen flame and then directly applying it to the treated object (or equipment); a thin layer of tin is applied to the surface first, followed by the application of lead, which is known as the indirect lead plating method. Lead plating is suitable for vacuum, vibration, high temperatures, and heat transfer. The quality inspection methods for lead plating include visual inspection, cross-section inspection, dilute sulfuric acid test, and steam test.
