I would like to ask what the maximum outlet pressure of a small chiller can be?
We use turbine-driven centrifugal compressors, with the outlet pressure of the ice makers being 1.66 MPa; this value varies depending on the specific ice maker.
What I would like to ask is: is it possible to use a screw-type compact chiller to send ammonia into a medium-pressure tank at 1.6 Mpa?
It’s a bit difficult, right? Our small chiller (with a standard cooling capacity of 244 KW) operates at pressures not exceeding 1.5 Mpa
It’s possible; for what we use, this pressure basically triggers an interlock at high outlet pressure.
The discharge pressure of our company’s centrifugal ice machines is around 12 kilograms

It depends on the model; here we use screws with a pressure of 1.5 MAP
Check the design pressure of your chiller; the lower the pressure, the more economical it is. If the pressure is too high, check whether there is a leak of high-pressure gas in the ammonia cooling system
The outlet pressure of a small chiller can reach up to 17 kilograms, but operating at such a pressure results in high power consumption, is uneconomical, and has a low safety factor; therefore, it is generally kept below 15 kilograms.
