Hello everyone. I’m a beginner; I’ve been using Aspen’s Gibbs energy reactor to carry out simulations of reaction equilibrium with gas and solid feedstocks, specifically for chemical vapor deposition reactions. I’ve run into tons of problems, so I’m reaching out for help. The main issues are: 1. Since the solid phase is also involved in the chemical reaction equilibrium, should I model it as a separate stream, or as a sub-stream of the gas streams? 2. I chose to design it as a sub-Logistics, with only one inlet and one outlet. Yet the stream option in the stream class remains red. Why is that? 3. Logically, the output from such a reactor should be the result of Gibbs equilibrium, so why does he still ask me to enter the amount of output? In the chemical vapor deposition reaction I’m carrying out, in which SiHCl3, H2 gas, and silicon powder are mixed together as feed materials, I aim to achieve a result that minimizes Gibbs energy. The only solid phase present is silicon powder, but it still participates in the chemical reaction equilibrium. Initially, I used a simple Gibbs reactor with one inlet and one outlet, without any heat transfer, and it was able to determine the equilibrium temperature and pressure. But now there’s a problem with the stream, and no results are being obtained. For global, I chose streamclass. I’m not sure if I made myself clear; I hope the senior can give me more advice.
