For the 3+1 tower distillation unit, if the feed is interrupted, which pumps need to be stopped and which do not?
The feed pump of the pressurized tower needs to be stopped; at the control room, reduce the steam supply to Tower 1 and Tower 2, and operate in full reflux mode.
All pumps need to be shut down.
You need to first find out what caused the feed interruption. If the feed pump stops, then you need to start the backup pump right away; for distillation, just make some adjustments. If the feed issue cannot be resolved in a short time, then shut down the plant.
Stop feeding the material, quickly shut off the steam to the tower and stop the reflux pump; also stop the feed pump
If the feed pump fails but can be restored in a short time, there is no need to shut down any pumps; instead, increase the reflux rate and operate the entire system in reflux mode. Calorie reduction. Recovery is not possible in a short time; stop all feed pumps and operate the entire system in full reflux mode to maintain the liquid level in the tower. Heat reduction: If the feed pump of the pressure tower fails but can be restored in a short time, reduce the feed to the pre-tower and increase the reflux from the atmospheric pressure section of the pressure tower to reduce heat generation; if restoration is not possible in a short time, stop all feed pumps and switch to full reflux to reduce heat generation
