Based on my experience at Haichuan, many people rarely visit the resource-sharing sections of different forums. It can be said that many junior members are not even aware of such sections, and they also do not make good use of the forum’s search function by topic. As a result, many materials uploaded to the resource-sharing areas receive little attention, while members who truly need those materials are unable to find them. So I’m thinking whether there’s a way to encourage members to visit the resource sharing area more often, such as by posting a highlighted top-post to serve as a reminder and guide. It’s just a casual thought; it may not be mature enough, so please discuss it
Hehe, yeah, some members simply don’t pay attention at all
If you’re looking for information, it’s better to use the forum’s topic search function. It’s difficult to find what you need by searching in the resource sharing area; instead, people should be encouraged to organize those unstructured posts in that area. I see that there are many posts there that haven’t been organized yet
The data sharing section of Haichuan has always been virtually non-functional, with few people using it. It might be related to HaiChuan’s focus on creating a forum for technical exchanges rather than one for information sharing. But in my opinion, the two are not contradictory; giving priority to one does not mean they have to be exclusive of each other or incompatible! Under the current circumstances, to improve the resource sharing area, we can only ask the moderators to put in more effort! First, categorize the materials within the area, and then summarize them by category in index posts, such as [Index Post for Haichuan Electric’s Standards and Regulations]. Sea friends can perform web searches within the index post.
I fully agree with everything that has been discussed above. I have a suggestion. If this seems feasible, please have the cleaners take note: the exams for new members need to have their questions updated. Items that currently need to be mastered, such as how to use the shared resource area and its addresses, how to post messages, how to upgrade, common functions, and menu navigation, should all be included in these exams. It might get better. Additionally, the problems commonly encountered by lower-level members should be compiled in a dedicated section and made more prominent. :lol
I agree with the opinion on floor 4. Create an index post, or add a link on the main page to promote it. It can effectively guide members to enter. Or move the materials from each version separately to create a dedicated materials section. Categorized into books, drawings, papers, and so on!
I hope the website administrator can highlight the resource-sharing area in a prominent position on the site; sometimes it’s difficult for people to find this area or they’re not even aware of its existence. That’s just my personal opinion! ! ! ! ! !
Indeed, as the people above have said, the information-sharing sections in various sections are rather chaotic at the moment; there are some things that I think really shouldn’t be placed in those sections at all. Should the forum establish uniform rules regarding what types of materials should be placed in the material sharing section and which ones should not? This would also help the moderators of various sections to organize things properly.
To be honest, when I was a newcomer I would browse around, but these days I usually just use searches – it’s so much more convenient. So, those who upload files must make sure to use the correct file names. It would be even better if they could add some description as well
