What can you do with proficient use of CAD for engineering/mechanical drawing?

I worked at a coking design institute for a year, where I learned about the detailed design process and became proficient in using CAD; I also created detailed design drawings for a clean-type furnace door. But because the boss thought my education level was too low, he wouldn’t let me work on actual design tasks, so I quit! Excuse me, for the big shots, what can I do in these two situations? Our unit produces regular coking coal as well as compacted coking coal of grades 4.3 and 5.5!
