Does the clause 4.5.3.1 in the new code, which states that \"weld joints at pipe seats, weld joints between pipes and tube sheets, weld joints between dissimilar steels, and weld joints prone to reheat cracking or delayed cracking shall be subject to surface inspection,\" require surface inspection of the weld joints between the piping on the container and the shell or head? (The welding joint between the takeover and the cylinder is actually a combined weld)
In my understanding, the “nozzle seat fillet weld” referred to here should be the fillet weld between the mounted nozzle and the cylinder or head.
Does an insert-type fitting belong to the pipe socket?
