The concentration of the MDEA decarboxylation solution dropped from 300 g/l to 160 g/l within 16 hours; the workshop added 1.4 tons of MDEA decarboxylation solution, yet the concentration continued to decline, and the CO2 content in the decarboxylation gas exceeded the specified limits. Why, even though the process hasn’t changed and so much solution has been added, doesn’t the concentration increase?

Has the circulation volume and liquid storage volume decreased for the poster, or has the purity of the decarburization liquid decreased? It’s because the circulation volume and liquid storage volume have decreased; in most cases this is due to leaks, or else some other reaction has taken place.
Has a large amount of water entered the solution? If that’s the case, dilution will cause the concentration to drop. Check for leaks – thoroughly inspect all areas where water might be entering the solution system
Reply to 4#: In chemical gas purification, the purity of the decarburization liquid decreases. Currently, the solution with low concentration in the separation tank is discarded without being recycled; it takes at least three to four days before the amine concentration rises again
Reply to 6# leo_0088: So in other words, the total amount of decarburization fluid has increased, right? That is due to too much moisture being entrained in the gas phase; pay attention to the gas-water separator before the equipment and increase waste discharge.
