Recently, the slurry pumps in our plant have frequently experienced loose impeller nuts, which has led to impeller wear and pump shaft fractures. No cause can be found from the installation perspective. May I ask, what other reasons could cause the impeller nut to loosen?
I would like to ask if the impeller has a relaxation device? It's right to look for reasons, but one should also think about how to relax
There should also be a locking washer at the impeller nut; please check whether the locking washer is effective.
1. Has the impeller rotated in the reverse direction? If not, it should tighten as it moves upward. 2. Are there any issues with the threads on the back cap? The gap is too large; we didn’t use any locking washers, and this situation didn’t occur either
There are locking bolts in front of the impeller nut, but both of them have come loose. There is no reversal in the process operation.
