Since the factory’s DELTAV system is old, the operation stations often crash; fearing that they might stop working one day, we decided to install an additional operation station as a backup. After installing NT4.0 and DELTAV, we created a system configuration file on the main engineer station and sent it to the operation station. However, when trying to assign a license to this operation station, we found that no licenses were available for assignment. Is this because our factory only purchased licenses for 6 operation stations (which have now been used up)? If we want to install another operation station, do we need to first unassign a license from one of the existing operation stations in order to assign it to the new one? Additionally, after unassigning, is there any impact on the original operation station (the one from which the license was removed)? If it needs to be restored, is it sufficient to simply assign the license again? Please give me some advice, thanks!
Yes, the license has been backed up properly
For backups, it’s not necessary to store them on the same network; the IP address can be configured according to any OPS, and it can be changed temporarily depending on the server being used. All that’s needed is to make the necessary settings for alerts, trends, and flowcharts. After all, the DATABASE isn’t run on the OPS
Yes, I kept the new workstation’s IP address, workstation name, and network group name exactly the same as those of the old workstation that was replaced. After connecting it, the network connection was established. But after installing DELTAV, I 1. generated a configuration file, which was sent to the newly installed workstation for use in workstation configuration. (Completed) 2. Perform the LICENSE/ASSIGN LICENSE operation on the newly configured operation station from the main engineer station. (Since our plant has only six LICENSEs for the operation stations, and they have all been used up, does it mean that the LICENSE from the removed operation station must first be revoked before it can be assigned to a newly installed operation station?) ? ) 3. For the newly installed operation station, perform DOWNLOAD/SETUP DATE as well as WORKSTATION setup (it is not possible to perform the download due to the lack of a LICENSE)
Is it necessary to first deactivate the LICENSE of the replaced operation station before assigning it to the newly installed one? ? ) On the Plus station, delete the operator station that is to be uninstalled, and download the setup data to the Plus station; at this point your license should have been released. Create a new operator station, download the setupdata to configure the station’s settings, and complete the installation of the new operator station
