What is the typical total sulfur content in the CO2 sent for urea production after methanol washing and separation? What is the typical level of CO? The design here is a bit too high
The total sulfur content in the CO2 of urea is less than 5 ppm; the CO2 content exceeds 98.5%, while CO is rarely analyzed.
Reply to 1# 115115ddd: A total sulfur content of 20 ppm in CO2 gas is too high. By using the low-temperature methanol washing process and increasing the flow rate of sulfur-free methanol back to the CO2 desorption tower, it is generally possible to keep the total sulfur content in CO2 gas at around 15 ppm, even when the gas is produced from high-sulfur coal.
