Low-temperature impact value of the material

May I ask, what role does the low-temperature impact value of the material play in the calculation of the tube sheet for fixed-tube-sheet shell-and-tube heat exchangers?
The impact energy value has no effect on the equipment calculations.
It probably doesn’t serve any purpose for calculations; its role is merely as a reference when selecting materials
It’s just a way of verifying the material, to test its toughness
