These projects include a polycrystalline silicon production facility with an annual capacity of 2,000 tons aimed at reducing energy consumption, a facility with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons for industrial-scale polycrystalline silicon production, and a facility for manufacturing solar silicon wafers with an annual capacity of 500 megawatts. The total investment is expected to be no less than 12 billion yuan, with an annual output value of 15 billion yuan. Develop downstream polysilicon industry projects to promote the growth of the silicon industry cluster. The product of the 3,000-ton/year polycrystalline silicon industrialization project in Phase I of the Nanhaizi Industrial Park in the development zone is of semiconductor grade, offering advantages such as low cost, favorable environmental impact, and reduced energy consumption. The main production processes and equipment for this project incorporate advanced technologies from Europe and the United States, ensuring a high standard and cutting-edge technology for the project. According to data provided by a Chinese engineering consulting firm, it is the company with the most advanced technology and processes for polysilicon projects that are under construction or planned in China. This project has been included in Yunnan Province’s list of 20 key industrial construction projects to be promoted; testing is currently underway, and the trial operations are progressing well, with production expected to begin in the near future. The completion and operation of this series of major projects have become the most important industrial support, the key industrial foundation, and the most direct driver of economic growth for the **-level Qujing Economic and Technological Development Zone. “The investment and construction project for the Silicon Materials Industrialization Base was officially signed, representing a significant opportunity for Qujing Development Zone to enhance its key industries and expand industrial clusters, thereby accelerating the development of its industrial economy. From 2012 to 2016, 20.5 billion yuan was invested: 4.5 billion yuan was spent on building a polysilicon production facility with an annual capacity of 14,000 tons, 1 billion yuan was invested in projects related to the purification of liquid chlorine, hydrogen, and trichlorosilane for use in polysilicon production, and 12 billion yuan was invested over six phases in projects aimed at integrating battery manufacturing, silicon wafer production, and module fabrication, resulting in an overall production capacity of 3,600 megawatts. In addition, the British company Reneng Group invested 5.2 billion yuan in 2007 to establish Sichuan Reneng Silicon Materials Co., Ltd.; the first-phase production line with an annual capacity of 3,000 tons of polysilicon came online in 2009. British company Solara Group is a publicly listed company that is listed on both the LSE AIM board in London (LSE: SOLA) and the NYSE main board in New York (NYSE: SOL). Its business scope includes the production and sales of native polysilicon, monocrystalline silicon rods, polysilicon ingots, and silicon wafers, as well as the manufacturing and sales of solar cells and modules, along with photovoltaic system solutions. Zhejiang Yuhui Sunshine Energy Co., Ltd. mainly deals in solar-grade monocrystalline silicon wafers and polycrystalline silicon wafers, and is a wafer manufacturer that engages in the large-scale production of both monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon. As one of the top three silicon wafer manufacturers in the world, it has a production capacity of 1,200 megawatts for silicon wafers.
