Our product is amino acids; we want to control trace amounts of moisture but are unsure what instruments or methods to use
1. An accurate measurement can be obtained using the Karl Fischer method; 2. The amount of crystal water, as well as the changes during water loss, can be determined using differential thermal analysis ; 3. The moisture adsorbed physically can be determined by drying ; Are these methods sufficient?
You need to look at the standards; what methods are required for your analysis? Generally, Kardia is used more often
Just use Carls reagent and the appropriate instruments to measure trace amounts of moisture
The Kemtrak infrared moisture meter can be used; it operates on the principle of infrared absorption spectroscopy to measure moisture content online, with the signal available as a 4-20mA output
We used the Karl Fischer method for measurement; the precision of existing fully automatic moisture analyzers is quite high. I’m not sure what exactly the author means by ‘trace amounts’
