During the development of the gasification island, it was found through actual operation that the main problem is: :@ The flow rate of coal powder varies greatly; :The consistency of coal powder in line L is also not very good, and it breaks easily. I would like to ask all experts here: how is the stability of high-pressure coal powder transportation addressed at present?
I’ve seen that many of your posts are about the issue of coal powder transportation, and they all deal with difficult problems that generally no one would tell you about. Fluctuations in coal volume are caused by poor fluidization and mixing at the front end, coupled with a low gas velocity for pneumatic conveying at the back end (below the settling velocity); those involved in research should find this easy to understand. Regarding the moisture issue, the key points are internal moisture and surface moisture; according to the data I have, as long as the surface moisture is below 5%, there are basically no problems with transportation under low pressure. For lignite, most of the water is internal water, which can reach up to 18%, provided that the requirements regarding surface water are met. The key is to distinguish between the concepts of internal water and external water.
Reply to 2# rhinocao: Thank you, Lao Cao. There are several key technical aspects in the development of coal gasification in China, one of which is high-pressure dense-phase coal transportation. Moreover, research into this technology requires substantial investment and a long time frame; the domestic research foundation is weak, and it cannot be accomplished by just one or two research institutes. It requires the involvement of multiple domestic organizations, through a collaborative approach integrating industry, academia, and research, in order to solve it. The key technical data at the core cannot be shared, but discussions on theoretical aspects and the general conclusions of experiments can still be exchanged. The technical secrets of a business need to be protected; it is the foundation for survival. But some communication is still needed to inspire each other. Thank you again, Lao Cao.
The poster should specify what type of coal powder conveying technology is being used, whether it’s the SHELL type or the GSP type. There are many factors that affect the stability of coal powder transportation, including those related to the coal powder itself, valves, and fluidization factors.
Personally, I think the fluctuations in coal volume are caused by the following factors: 1. The flow rate of gas used for fluidizing the coal powder; 2. The flow rate of gas used for transporting the coal powder; 3. Pressure fluctuations in the system; 4. Fluctuations in the pressure of the gas used for fluidizing or transporting the coal powder; 5. Issues such as valves getting stuck
