For an elliptical standard head, once the inner diameter of the cylinder is known, the height of the head can be determined. What remains is the choice of the straight edge length, which is usually 25 MM, 40 MM, etc.; these values are more or less standard
If there are no special requirements, the straight-edge length can be selected according to standard JB 4746: 25 mm for straight edges with an inner diameter of 2000 mm or less, and 40 mm for those with an inner diameter greater than 2000 mm
It can be said that straight edges and thickness are generally what are taken into consideration
For a standard end cap, once the inner diameter of the cylinder is known, the size of the end cap can be determined (it can be chosen according to relevant end cap standards); however, the thickness of the end cap needs to be calculated. The length of the straight edges of the end cap can generally be selected based on standards, with only in very special cases do these lengths change.
The head needs to take into account the thinning rate; therefore, its thickness might need to be greater than that of the container walls, so it’s necessary to do some calculations
Are there openings at the pipe connections at both ends of the container? Should we consider opening holes for reinforcement? Head corrosion allowance data? After comprehensive calculation, the head thickness can be determined. .
