The inlet of the centrifugal pump is connected to a high-level water tank; the pump can be started and stopped remotely, but after the pump stops, the water in the high-level water tank will flow out through the pump. A check valve should be installed at the pump outlet.
A back pressure valve should be installed on the pump outlet pipeline; the opening pressure of this valve only needs to be slightly higher than the pressure at that location when the pump is shut down!
Based on your process requirements, 1. There is a simple and common method: a check valve can be installed at the pump’s outlet; once the pump stops, the check valve prevents water from flowing back into the tank; 2. If it is necessary to completely prevent water from flowing back, a check valve and a pneumatic valve can be installed: the pneumatic valve is placed between the check valve and the pump’s outlet. When the pump stops, the check valve prevents water from flowing back into the tank. I think you should just install an electric on/off valve! When sending a signal to the pump, another signal is also sent to the valve to ensure they open and close simultaneously!
Install a control valve, and add a control system – that’s it. Having the pump and the valve form a closed-loop system will do as well
