Here, the scheduling department directly asks how much water and air the boiler needs, then calls the relevant units to inform them that the boiler is about to be started, how much water and air it requires, and when it will be used, asking them to keep an eye on things at that time. This is to give a heads up in advance and inform the relevant technical staff. Before starting up, the boiler notifies the dispatch team that it is about to start, and then the dispatch team informs those responsible for supplying water and air, giving them a reminder.
Scheduling involves not only notifying those who supply water and wind, but also informing the various workshops that use steam. Count the usage of water and wind.
This matter can be discussed at either a superficial or a more in-depth level. At a superficial level, it’s sufficient to inform the relevant departments and teams. At a more in-depth level, it involves specialized control strategies; as a dispatcher, one must be aware of the conditions required for starting the boiler – such as the amount of boiler water, factory air, and instrument air needed, whether the utility systems can meet these demands, and whether it’s necessary to start pumps and air compressors in advance. One also needs to know how to coordinate things so as not to affect other equipment. If there is a high demand right at the time of startup, it’s important to figure out how to get other teams to reduce their usage in order to avoid peak loads. There are also various other considerations related to starting the boiler safely, stably, and smoothly – aspects that other specialties cannot handle.
This issue cannot be generalized; the specific functions of boilers in different plants vary, so local areas must make decisions based on their own circumstances. First, consider the conditions when the boiler is started up, such as water, electricity, gas, coal, and ash handling; it is also necessary to coordinate the warming of the steam pipelines with the various users. Next, balance the steam users, although the classification varies in some places. For example, in our company, the boiler and the desalinated water treatment are located in the same workshop, so the supervisor can either take care of this matter or not. Therefore, the specific details of scheduling and coordination are determined based on the particular circumstances.
