Alkali pump issue

Our factory is planning to remove the filter located in front of the alkali pump, as the gaps in the filter mesh are too small and this hinders the pump’s pressure and normal operation; instead, we will use perforated PP plates for filtering. What I want to ask is: although the pressure of the pump increased after this change, removing the filter screen allows certain substances to pass through the PP plate and into the pump. Will this have a significant impact on the pump?
The wear on the pump will definitely increase, and it’s best to replace the mechanical seal with an external type that uses external flushing.
Alkali pumps are generally single-stage centrifugal cantilever pumps. It’s definitely not possible to do without an inlet filter; you can increase the filtering precision or check the incoming material processing process to prevent large particles from entering the pump.
The pump shaft can be made of S31803 duplex steel
