Life: Some say that the greatest characteristic that distinguishes humans from animals is their ability to think and reflect. There is a question that has been bothering me constantly: Why does a person live? A leader recommended a set of books titled \"The Way of Living\", which consists of three books in total. The author is Kazuo Masuoka, a Japanese man who founded two companies that are part of the Fortune 500 list. In his book, he tells us that being a human being is about having a certain attitude – it’s about experiencing life, striving to improve one’s inner spiritual environment, and living for the benefit of all beings. My master is a man of great refinement; through his life experiences, he taught me that when people are together, whether in good times or bad, it is all part of fate. A friend of mine from the company, who is my senior, told me that what matters in a company is profit – nothing but profit. This is his fundamental starting point for acting within a company. Because of my master’s recommendation, I read a Chinese book called “XXX”. I’ve read about one-third of it; I agree with many of the views expressed in it. However, there are certain statements in the book that I strongly object to, refuse to accept, and even hate, which is why I haven’t finished reading the remaining two-thirds. Because I’ve been outside for a long time and seen a lot, I gradually realized that **this is just how society works: lies covered up by more lies** ； Many things are hypocritical and fake ； Many people do unjust and harmful things against their conscience; it’s hard to understand how those people can sleep at night. Perhaps this is what makes differences between people – the same ingredients can nourish many different kinds of people. There was a time when I went to Lingyin to experience the tranquility of Buddhism. There are already plenty of pilgrims there, so it can’t really be said to be peaceful. By chance, I bought a book called \"The World of Zen\" at a small shop at the exit. The author is Master Sheng Yan from Taiwan; it contains some of his speeches on Buddha, Zen Buddhism, and various aspects of life. They are deeply moving and compelling, inspiring one to think carefully and then strive to learn from them. I’ve read it several times intermittently; I think it should be kept as a bedside book to be referred to often. Buddha’s enlightenment, Zen’s realization. Buddhism is actually very simple; it teaches us to strive to achieve a certain state of mind, a way of viewing problems. Observe that the body is impure; observe that sensations are suffering; observe that the mind is impermanent; observe that dhamma has no self. Perhaps it is due to insufficient spiritual attainment or lack of insight; Buddha tells us that the Dharma is eternal and unchanging ； Human thoughts change over time; there is nothing that remains constant ； People are unable to rely on themselves because of their various desires ； Most of the things people experience in this world are suffering, with only a small amount being joy; one should not let that small amount of joy overshadow the suffering. Everything arises from causation, and a person exists in this world as well due to the causations of the three cycles of rebirth. That being said, due to different life experiences and choices people make, it’s necessary to think carefully about why one lives. A thoughtful person always has a basis and a reason for whatever they say or do. Using the terminology from the process control field we learned before, the theoretical foundation of the chemical industry is \"three transfers and one reaction\". It’s relatively easier in today’s society for the same person to live a selfish life. But living alone does not mean being by oneself only; it includes your parents, friends, wife, children. While ensuring one’s own survival, if one has the ability, they should also ensure the survival of those around them. On this basis lies living freely. If one has the means, then it is to help those around them, a region or even more. This is what I think now: one should not live in a selfish manner.
