Regarding the shape of the vacuum tower

Our facility has 2 vacuum distillation towers, a primary vacuum distillation tower and a secondary vacuum distillation tower. Why do they have different shapes? The top of the primary vacuum distillation column is narrower than its bottom, while both ends of the secondary vacuum distillation column are narrow. What is the reason for this?
At the top, the gas-liquid phase load is low, so the tower diameter is small； Due to the high temperature and long residence time in the lower section, coking is likely to occur, which affects product quality; therefore, the diameter of the stripping section is also smaller
