97# gasoline can be formulated using other gasoline components in the fuel blending plant. Adjustment methods include line adjustment and tank adjustment.
MMT is used to produce blended gasoline by mixing a butane-pentane-rich component, a natural gasoline component, and at least one octane-boosting component. During the blending process, the mixture is exposed to the atmosphere to remove light hydrocarbons including 2-, 3-, and 4-carbon components. This light hydrocarbon can be recovered to generate power for operating this process; it is preferable that its amount be less than 3% of the blended gasoline. The resulting liquid gasoline mixture possesses the required octane rating, an vapor pressure acceptable from an environmental perspective, and produces the minimum amount of pollutants when burned in internal combustion engines
